Yundum International Airport

Yundum is the only airport in The Gambia. It was built by NASA so that if the Space Shuttle has an engine problem within the first 11 seconds of flight it can glide across the Atlantic and land. The runway is therefore in excess of 2 miles long.

A deserted Piper Navajo, it has just been left here because the owner could not pay the landing fee.

The microlight school is in what was the old fire station. Just behind it is the Gambian Aviation Authority.
